4 Seasons Ranch Barn

Stay tuned for an intro of our barn friends coming soon! barn

The barn was built in 1944 and used for calves when the ranch was a working farm. It has survived the years with a lot of help from volunteers in the community. This lovely old building has become the landmark and signature of the 4 Seasons Ranch. It greatly enhances the entrance to this community and has become a popular spot for photographers especially in the spring when the plum trees and daffodils are in full bloom.

Homeowners, who are residents of the ranch, can use the barn to stable their own horses.  Availability is on a first come first served basis. There are four stalls each having a fenced paddock and access to a loafing shed.  There are also two acres of pasture for turn out.
Horse owners are responsible for all upkeep and care of their animals. Including purchasing hay, farrier and vet care.

This wonderful amenity is now home to four equines, a cat, barn owl and chickens. The barn facilities are also shared with the garden and chicken co-op.

We do request that visitors and general users of the barn respect the rules which are there for the safety of animals and people.

BARN RULES.

DO NOT FEED THE HORSES. This is very important for their health. Too much sugar, including apples and carrots etc can make them very sick.

DO NOT OPEN OR ENTER ANY STALL. Only horse owners or their designated keepers are allowed.

MAKE SURE ALL GATES ARE SECURED AND MAIN DOOR IS CLOSED AND LATCHED WHEN LEAVING THE BARN.   The main door opens easily and wind will blow it open which can damage the rollers. If a horse gets loose in the barn they will push the door open and run out into the street.  (It has happened).

DO NOT RUN OR PLAY IN THE BARN. This is not a playground.

NO UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN IN THE BARN, unless they have permission from the barn manager and chicken / garden co-op.  (This permission does not include friends or siblings) This is a safety issue.

Keep work areas clean and tidy.

Sweep / pick up debris (grass clippings, hay etc.) in main aisle on a regular basis.

Dogs must be kept on a leash while in and around the barn.

Please note, horse owners have a more detailed set of rules which must be signed when they join the barn community.
